Chargers beat Saukees in Overtime, Pitsfield wins tournament on tie-breaker

    The Illini West Chargers shot just 6 for 30 from the 3-point line but were able to force overtime and defeated the Pittsfield Saukees 52-46.
    Both teams struggeled to score in the first half, with Pittsfield holding a 16-12 lead at the break. After a 9-9 3rd quarter, Illini West outscored Pittsfield 14-10 to force the overtime period, where they outscored the Saukees 15 to 9.
    Jackson Porter lead the way for the Chargers, scoring 24 points, including 19 in the second half and overtime. Kennedy Gooding posted a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
    Korbyn Personett was the only Saukee player to reach double figures, as he scored 23 points.
    Pittsfield, Illini West, Western and Routt all finished the tournament 3-1, meaning the tie was broken by the number of defensive points allowed. Pittsfield had allowed the fewest number of points, making the Saukees the tournament champions.

Indians too much for Lovejoy, claim first victory

    The Payson Seymour Indians rode a career day from Lance Loos in route to a 76-54 win over Lovejoy.
   Loos scored 29 points, including 19 points in the first half to lead the Indians. Tanner Cannady came off the bench to score 14 points in the second half and Travis Johnson scored 11 points and pulled in 8 rebounds.
    Lovejoy was lead by Khari Jackson with 15 points. Key'Mondre Lee also scored 14 points and Cameron Wallace finished the game with 12 points.

Western moves to 3-1, blows out Liberty

  The Western Wildcats capped a fine start to their season, moving to 3-1 in a 57-34 win over the Liberty Eagles.
    Liberty held a 9-7 lead after the 1st quarter, but the Wildcats came alive in the second quarter, taking a 10-point lead into the halftime break.
    The Wildcats forced Liberty into 21 turnovers and never allowed them to get back in the game in the second half.
    Easton Billings scored 17 points in a reserve role to lead Western. Aleck Hively added 13 points and Dalton Malone finished with 10 points.
    Liberty was lead by Lucas Booher with 11 points in the loss.
